The importance of a palliative care approach for people living with dementia is increasingly recognized, yet care is fragmented and palliative care needs of these individuals and their caregivers are often poorly addressed. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), palliative care is a multidisciplinary integrated approach to care that emphasizes the quality of life of patients and their families confronted with life-threatening illnesses. This is why we are building a sustainable alliance of key stakeholders who are engaged in the development, execution, and dissemination of patient-centered outcomes research (PCOR) for better palliative care for persons living with dementia and their families.
